REANNZ (the Research and Education Advanced Network New Zealand) work to provide high-performance network solutions for New Zealand’s top researchers and educators, who often need access to emerging technology and niche, creative solutions to achieve their ambitions. Through REANNZ, our members have access to a world-wide network that supports the global flow of data between researchers, educators and innovators, connecting them at speed to the tools, people, applications and resources they need to be successful in their fields, wherever they may be. Our ultimate purpose is to enable New Zealand’s research, education and innovation sectors to thrive in a data-intensive, digitally-enhanced world.The Manager Member Engagement will provide leadership across a range of initiatives that support the REANNZ member institutions.This role has two primary business objectives: driving deeper member engagement and value, and leadership both as a people leader and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will succeed in creating a sense of community amongst members and position REANNZ as a trusted partner of our members, rather than simply as a vendor.The Manager Member Engagement will lead the way in ensuring that REANNZ is able to cultivate close relationships with members to help unlock their own potential through the delivery of customised technology, services and support.Key responsibilities:
Develop and execute a strong Member Engagement Strategy to support and deliver on our business objectives, including deeper member engagement and improved value through service delivery and support, and growing REANNZ membership.
Recruit and lead a team of diverse skills to implement the Member Engagement Strategy and contribute to achievement of REANNZ’s business objectives; ensuring REANNZ has the right skills to deliver on its goals.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Engage with key influencers and decision makers at member institutions to promote the REANNZ value proposition.
Positively contribute to our culture with an open and communicative leadership style, empowering your team to self-start and identify new ways of working or solving problems.
Engage with end users and members’ technical staff to identify opportunities for new services and work closely with the Product & Services Team to assess and develop those opportunities.
Work with the Product & Services Team to drive the creation and implementation of new programmes and initiatives around new services, user support and overall business development and expansion.
Desired attributes and experience:
You will have a proven ability to create successful engagement strategies, developing and maintaining strategic relationships.
A high degree of networking, compute and storage infrastructure knowledge would be a real advantage. You will be able to hold credible technical conversations with confidence, and you will be comfortable interfacing at the executive/senior academic level.
Resilience and flexibility, with an adaptable approach to relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
A team player, with a commitment to collaborative ways of working.
Have worked in the New Zealand research and education sector, preferably with experience in and a deep understanding of research workflows and/or operating environment.
